Tabaluga – Children’s Club
A project for the entire village
In July 2015, Tabaluga Foundation employed a social worker who, together with various interns, implements the project “School after School”, an educational and creative concept for the children of Roadeș village. The goal is to provide the village children with an opportunity to improve their education, learning by playing and developing their creativity and fine motor skills through games and manual activities. Children are provided healthy food, personal hygiene products and school supplies, they benefit from support for homework and are invited to participate in various activities, manual activities, painting or baking. Thus, we support not only the children, but also all villagers, as here live mostly poor families who can barely afford to engage in their children’s education. Currently, life in Roadeș is marked by poverty, high unemployment rate and poor infrastructure.
The little villagers are actively involved in the “School after School” activities and adopted the children’s club as a place where they are welcome and can develop their personality. In the inauguration of the new cultural house of Roadeș, in August 2015, the children performed on stage for the guests the songs they learned at the “School after School”. Their parents were part of the audience and were obviously proud of their children.
In the near future, the Foundation, together with their partner Volkswagen Dienste intends to build a kindergarten where the village children may learn and develop their individual skills in the afternoons. The design stage is already quite advanced. Before commencing the construction phase, construction permits will have to be obtained from authorities.
