When renovating the former youth hostel, Peter Maffay Foundation focused on creating a pleasant and positive ambiance. The house has a bright charming recreation room with a fireplace, a living room, a kitchen and five bedrooms, providing room for a total number of 12 children and teenagers, with their carers.
Right next to the house there was initially a summer house, which had been used to store ping pong tables, bicycles and other sports equipment and where everybody could play on bad weather. Unfortunately, the sanitation facilities no longer functioned and the summer house needed complete renovation. So, in 2013, with the support of Thomas Haffa Foundation, the house was demolished and it was replaced by a modern and bright building, “Jägersbrunn House of Encounters” with a wonderful view of the swamps and of the ornithological nature reserve of Lake Maising. A true recovery oasis with many opportunities for therapy and recreational activities, a refuge for the children and teenagers hosted by Tabaluga House.
