The Peter Maffay Foundation, named after its chairman Peter Maffay, was started in 2000. Managing director is Albert Luppart. The Foundation’s registered office is in D-82327 Tutzing, Klenzestr. 1.
A second office – the Fundación Tabaluga – was installed in Pollenca, Mallorca, in 2003. The spacious finca Ca’n Llompart on Mallorca offers a wide range of attractive options for up to 14 children and youngsters to gather important new experiences together with their therapists.
The Peter Maffay Foundation’s latest project was started in 2008: the Fundatia Tabaluga in Radeln, Romania. Here, comparable to the Finca Ca’n Llompart, another shelter for children is being created in the vicinity of a historical church fortress.
These children/young people and families find help at the Peter Maffay Foundation:
• Children/young people with social problems
• Children/young people suffering from grief,
for example after losing one of their parents
• Children with heavy, chronic diseases and/or handicapped children with
their siblings and parents
• Foster children or single parents with their children
• Children and young people in need of humanitarian help (e.g. from
Chernobyl, Afghanistan, Iraq)
Ca‘n Llompart – a holiday home for children on Mallorca
The holiday home for children at the Finca Ca’n Llompart on Mallorca is the first project of the Peter Maffay Foundation that takes care of children who are traumatized by violence or sexual abuse within the family or by heavy disease. Also, it enables socially disadvantaged children, young people and families from various countries to spend some time on Ca’n Llompart. Professional care is ensued in close co-operation with the Tabaluga Children’s Foundation in Tutzing.
Among other things, the supportive offers are:
Working with and in nature
The agricultural goods are being produced without pressure and according to biological aspects. Olive and citrus plantations, milk and cheese dairies, maintenance and cultivation of the premises (e.g. building fences), helping with the care of animals (e.g. working in the stables, feeding the animals)
Creative activities
Painting, pottery, baking bread, making music, participation in art therapies
Regaining strength, relaxing and recovering
The sea and the extensive area on the hillside offer lots of experiences in the field of leisure education, like e.g. outings along the coast, hiking in the hills or during the night, camping in free nature. From this wide range of opportunities, we develop concepts according to the particular needs of each group.
The Peter Maffay Foundation also entertains further co-operations for therapeutic sojourns: with the sailing ship “Sir Robert Baden Powell”, the Sternstundenhaus of the Tabaluga Children’s Foundation in Peißenberg, upper Bavaria, and in Zillertal, Austria.
