Soil, air, water and Majorca’s warm sunlight provide perfect conditions for the plants to flourish and for species-appropriate animal husbandry on the finca Ca’n Sureda. Local and German workers treat the soil gently according to old Majorcan tradition as well as latest ecological standards, avoiding chemical substances. The animals spend most of the time outside on the ample pastures, where they can eat delicious grass and herbs. On top of that, they get organic food without hormonal or chemical additives. The cheese dairy uses exclusively milk from domestic sheep, goats and cows. Our dairy staff make delicious cream and cut cheese by hand, using organic lab, salt, water and herbs. Apart from the various kinds of cheese, there is also a new cosmetics collection with products based on whey, which is a by-product of cheese making. Unlike the usual white bread offered on Majorca, the Ca’n Sureda baker makes crispy sunflower seed bread based on natural sourdough, potato bread as well as classical German pretzels. All these organic Ca’n Sureda products can be purchased either at the farm’s bio shop or on Sundays at Pollença’s weekly market.
